Ab Wheel Training

Ab wheel training is an effective workout to train the abs plus the whole upper body. The ab roller wheel is a simple 8 to 9 inch wheel with handles on each side. There are double ab wheels as well. They give the ab wheel exercises more stability. For many people the ab wheel is the perfect device of abdominal exercise equipment. Others say it causes pack pain to use it. Let’s glimpse of a few pros and cons.

Pros: The ab wheel is inexpensive and small. We can do our ab wheel training at home and on tour, whenever it fits in our schedule. Exercises with an ab roller wheel works out the whole upper body and the arms in short time.

Cons: Ab roller wheel exercises seem to be easy, but it is disappointing how difficult they are to perform. Performing ab wheel training in a wrong or jerky way definitely can cause back pain or other injuries.

So the main question is: How to use an ab wheel correctly in order to get the benefits? There are a few important rules. Always do the ab wheel training slowly and controlled. Tighten your abs before you start. Keep them tight during the whole exercise. Don’t drop the body down. Don’t hollow the back. And don’t forget to breathe. With this in mind kneel down, put the ab wheel in front of you and start rolling forward. For beginners it will be too difficult, to stretch out totally. It is better to roll back than to drop down. 8 reps is a good first goal for beginners.

Finally here are a few tips for ab wheel training beginners: It is always good to read the ab roller instructions before starting ab roller exercises. It is comfortable to put the knees on a cushion. Putting the feet against the wall gives more stability. Some people recommend to sit a few feet toward a wall and to roll till the ab roller wheel touches the wall. With getting stronger core muscles the distance to the wall can be increased step by step.

There is a new patent pending wheel out, called the Resistance wheel. It is part of a set called the Bolt Pack. This wheel is the revolutionized ab wheel that found a way to remove all those cons you have listed. When I originally tried the regular ab wheel, I just fall flat on my face. You need to be conditioned/at a higher fitness level to use the ab wheel, but as you stated the benefits are wonderful. So I went in search of a device that can do the same things as the ab wheel but that was for all fitness levels and had no cons. I came across this wonderful set about 2 months ago and fall in love. It's so convenient and what a great workout. Here's the link if you're interested in checking it out:http://www.amazon.com/Ab-Wheel-The-Bolt-Pack/dp/B0
